Very large documents (hundreds of scanned pages) benefit from more memory and enough free temporary disk space.
Optional add-ons
They are not in the installer, and are downloaded only when a user chooses them in Settings ▸ Optional upgrades. They install into
%APPDATA%\PDF Studio\engines\
, and can also be installed from a file downloaded beforehand (the From file button) on PCs without internet access.

AI packs
Stored in %APPDATA%\PDF Studio\models\, downloaded once from huggingface.co, and an interrupted download resumes.

All packs are Apache-2.0 licensed. The AI runs on the processor, and uses the graphics card automatically when it supports Vulkan.
Network
- Outbound HTTPS to
pdfstudio-licence.elixtechs.com(1.2.0 and earlier:pdfstudio-licence.nmteches.com) when activating, and once every few weeks afterwards. - Nothing else is required for the app to work. The optional downloads have their own hosts.
- No connection at all? Offline activation is available.

Languages
- Application interface: English, and Arabic since 1.2 (following the Windows language, or chosen in Settings).
- Documents: full Arabic and English support — shaping, direction and bundled Arabic fonts (Amiri, Noto Naskh, Noto Kufi and more).
- OCR: English and Chinese with the built-in engine (a one-time download since 1.2); Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Hebrew, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Russian and more through Tesseract OCR.
